Oh crap!
"School Trip Included Baptism
From Kentucky, we have a story about a school trip that included not only a visit to a church, but baptism without parental consent. Michelle Ammons is angry that her sixteen-year-old son went on a trip led by his football coach at Breckinridge County High School. The coach took a group of players to his church, where nearly half of them were baptized. Ammons says her son, Robert Coffey, was "baptized without her knowledge and consent, and she is upset that ..."

It reminds me so much of some of the crap that was pulled when I was in school but I don't remember anything that went to this level of wrong.

Your result for The What Starfleet Rank Would You Be? Test...

Commander

The Understanding First Officer

You are the commander! This probably means that you are authoritative, and yet are able to take orders. You are creative when thinking, and tend to come up with most interesting solutions to problems. You are understanding and pay attentio to other peoples' needs as well as your own. You can adapt to amost any situation, which makes you a big help to your Captain. There are two sides to you: Riksy and Logcal. Your logical side makes you a good judger, and very good at predicting what is to come and advising the Captain. You can be a little risky, but that's just the fun part, right?

Farewell Shojo Beat!

  • Jul. 31st, 2009 at 8:01 PM
Oh crap!
It has been a rather eye twitchy day, so I am posting semi-silliness.

The July issue is the last issue ever of Shojo Beat magazine, so in honor of that I'm doing a manga list post.

Katrina's 9 Favorite Manga Series! (I couldn't come up with 1 more to make it a top 10)
List! )

Series I am currently reading!
List! )

What I will be reading next! (AKA what out of the 62ish titles at the library interest me atm.)
List! )

Series I want to read! (AKA ones I can't get a hold of or series I didn't start reading from the beginning)
List! )

But I think we all know I'll pretty much read whatever I can get my hands on. :)

So anyone out there have any favorite mangas? Animes?

Cue the Banner Dance

Oh crap!
I was going to do an entry bitching about cell phones, but then I checked my f-list and look what I found:

"Moderators' Choice: Hexbreaker by [info]kattrip033 for an amazing ride through wild ramen, snagged chicken, casino mayhem, and bathroom snogging -- all in only 269 words."

I'm off to finish my second summer shorts prompt entry.

I was going to do a regular entry but I decided instead to do a "Hooray! I have a new banner!" entry.

This is my Trailblazer Award:
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It was for the first ever quotation prompt over at [info]iyhedonism. Only two of us wrote for the prompt and we got custom banners for our efforts. They were both rather lovely but I really love mine. The quote was "Woman's destiny is to be wanton, like the bitch, the She-wolf; she must belong to all who claim her" by the Marquis de Sade. Yup, I took a gem like that and ended up with a cross-dressing fic, go figure.

The story will be going up on [info]gummiwolf as soon as I'm done here.

Have you seen my mojo? It seems to have escaped. If you borrowed it, that's totally cool - next time ask first, but I will be needing to take it back now. Anyway, if you see it running around loose please send it on home. Let it know it will be met with hot coco and cookies and that it isn't in trouble.

A real entry is coming. *waves about post-its with notes* I am hoping to glue myself to the computer this weekend and work it out.

At the moment I am attempting to write smut after a fairly long smut writing absence. It is not going well. Mostly it is resulting in head banging, not the kind of banging I need to inspire. *grins*
But it is not just my writing mojo that has disappeared, it seems my general mojo for all things that are not sleeping has just abandoned me. It is most frustrating.
Oh, yeah, and I think I might be fired. I shall have to make time to figure out that angry phone call tomorrow.

Just thought I would let you know I am still alive and about.

As for the quote I used for the entry title, that is not what my mojo looks like but I had problems coming up with a title that fit the entry. I stole it from Sokka from "Avatar: The Last Airbender."

Little Ashes - I know it has Robert Pattinson in it and it got some horrendous reviews but I want to see it anyway.

My monitor is being schizophrenic again.
I might be able to fix it. I might not. I do not know why it is doing what it does. I never figured out why it did it last time. I also do not know why it stopped doing it last time.

Hopefully it is just a monitor problem, not a bigger computer problem. But frankly, if either of them quits on me completely I cannot replace them at this time or in the foreseeable near future. Or take them anywhere to get them fixed.

I will be spending most of my online time at the library, meaning you will not probably be hearing a lot from me on my journal or at comms. At the library I can only schedule a hour a day and I cannot go everyday. So if I disappear for a while, please forgive me.

I am having a hard time at life in general at the moment. This is just the icing on the cake (tonight). At least this is reasonably manageable.

Goodnight.

"The Gift"

Hold me now I need to feel relief
Like I never wanted anything
I suppose I'll let this go and find a reason I'll hold on to
I'm so ashamed of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to get by

I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all

I can't face myself when I wake up
And look inside a mirror
I'm so ashamed of that thing
I suppose I'll let it go
Untill I have something more to say for me
I'm so afraid of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to defy

I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all

Hold me now I need to feel complete
Like I matter to the one I need

I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all

Now I'm ashamed of this
I am so ashamed of this
Now I'm so ashamed of me
I am so ashamed of me...
